During the month of October Houghtaling Elementary School students will learn how to recognize, refuse, and report bullying.
On October 3rd we will acknowledge Blue Shirt Day World Day of Bullying Prevention. The Houghtaling school community will wear blue to show their commitment to STOMP OUT BULLYING everywhere!
October 5th is our monthly PBIS Assembly. In addition to student of the month and attendance awards the 6th grade students will present a skit about standing up to bullying. Please join us at 1:00.
Our annual Unity Day celebration is October 19. Unity Day is celebrated across the United States. It is an opportunity to unite against bullying, to show those who are being bullied that they are not alone and that we care about them.
The Houghtaling Elementary Community will unite for kindness, acceptance, and inclusion on October 19th by Wearing the color orange and/or an orange ribbon and Signing the Unity pledge:
I am a Kid (Adult) Against Bullying! And I will
SPEAK UP when I see bullying
REACH OUT to others who are being bullied
BE A FRIEND whenever I see bullying
