  • Volunteers for Box Top Awards!

    We are looking for parent volunteers to bring in a classroom treat for the Box Top winners. There is a sign up sheet at the office counter. We announce the winners on Fridays & awards are given to the classroom on Mondays. Please call the office or stop by if you would like to sign up.

  • Parent/Teacher Conferences

    They are coming up very fast! Conferences are Wednesday, October 22nd from 4pm-8pm, and Thursday, October 23rd from 8am-8pm. Students WILL have school on Wednesday Oct. 22nd, and students WILL NOT have school on Thursday and Friday, Oct. 23rd and 24th. Please look for a form coming home with your scheduled time slot. If you have issues with your assigned time, please call the school ASAP.

  • October is National Bullying Prevention Month

    October is National Bullying Prevention Month! On Wednesday, October 22nd, Houghtaling Elementary will participate in the nationwide anti-bullying event UNITY DAY. The purpose of Unity Day is to unite against bullying, to show those who are being bullied that they are not alone and that we care about them. To show our support, the Houghtaling Emelentary Community will wear the color orange and/or an orange ribbon. During the month of October our School Counselor will visit each classroom to deliver lessons about bullying prevention.

  • TB Immunization

    State Law requires that all students in Kindergarten or new to the district be screened for TB. The deadline for turning in test results is December 15, 2014. Please contact our office at 225-4128 if you have any questions.

  • Halloween Grams

    The Schoenbar Middle School Dance Team is selling Halloween Grams. Options include The SPOOKY SPECIAL for $5.00 includes a popcorn ball, Halloween items and other sweets, or a GOBLIN GRAM for $2.00 that includes candy only. Please email smsdance@hotmail and include your childs name, school, grade, teacher, and message. They will be delivered to all the schools the week of 10/27-10/31.

  • Tongass Federal Credit Union School Savings Program

    Every Wednesday TFCU representatives will come to Houghtaling at lunchtime for students to make deposits. This will start Wed. Sept 24th!

  • We collect A&P Receipts & Box Tops!

    Houghtaling receives 1% back on A&P receipts and 10 cents each on box tops. Thank you Dolphin parents for sending these in each week. Click above to print out fun sheets for submission!

    Our parking lot is for staff parking, unless you need to access the handicap parking
